About Me

About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Nancy and welcome to How to Age Gracefully.

This site is dedicated to sharing useful information to help men and women combat the signs of aging as we move past the 3-0 mark. I am personally not a supporter of plastic surgery or fillers to help us achieve a look that we enjoyed in our 20’s. I do believe in embracing our age and being happy with what we have been given, however let’s agree that most of us want to retain as much youth as possible for as long as possible without taking drastic measures to achieve it. There are alternatives to going under the knife that provide positive results that are safer, healthier and ultimately leave you feeling confident and proud knowing that you did not resort to cosmetic surgery to “fix” you. You don’t need “fixing”…you may just want a little TLC along your aging journey. Remember, there is only ONE you, don’t try to look like someone else, they are already taken.

My Story.   (try not to nod off)

I am a former model, actress and television host. Wow, did that ever sound superficial and frankly, who cares. Let’s discuss something more important, who I really am.

I am a lucky wife who is married to the best husband, (yours is not as awesome as mine) and I am a mother to a 9 year-old son that I truly adore and makes my world turn. (yes sometimes upside down, but still turns).  We share our lives with Dudley, our Labradoodle who is lovable and trouble all bundled into one. I hit the big 5-0 awhile back and it provided me with a bit of an “aha” moment. Life really IS short. Wrinkles really DO happen and where the HELL did this stray gray hair come from? Although I have always taken care of myself since my 30s I am not prepared to wrinkle up like a prune and so now I am going to kick ass in my anti-aging routine. I plan to kick yours too if you allow me.

Although I am a certified esthetician (a useless certification that hung on the wall and I did nothing with), I am not a doctor or medical professional of any sort. I AM however, a savvy consumer who can easily navigate the world of anti-aging and weed out the gems that help me slooooow down my aging process. For the past 15 years I have paid close attention to the anti-aging marketplace and have managed to find gems that are working for me and are worth sharing with all of you.

Enter Chicken Little.

So, let’s be honest. We have all looked at several BEFORE and AFTER pictures of nips and tucks and thought…what if I could do that? Well, for me personally it is a resounding NOPE and here are 3 reasons why:

Nancy Reason #1 – I’m simply scared out of my mind that I will end up lop-sided or over-plumped

Nancy Reason #2 – I’m afraid that I will become addicted to getting “fixed” and I won’t be able to stop myself. This means, no money in my bank account and living a false belief system that I need to look perfect. We already know that nothing OR no one is perfect. Did you hear me on that one?

Nancy Reason #3 – Why would I risk surgery or needles when I can achieve great results using a plethora of products and daily regimens that provide predictable results, are safer and cost me less

It really comes down to me being a big chicken, so if you have had cosmetic surgery you’ve got balls.

As I age, I certainly feel the need to pay closer attention to my longevity including what I eat, what I apply to my skin and living a lifestyle that is kind to my overall mental and emotional wellness. I do this so I am good to myself AND to the people who surround my existence. I want to share my aging journey (both hits and misses) with all of you who are on a similar path. I am committed to only recommending the best and sharing honest opinions on things that I strongly believe will make a difference in each of our lives. Otherwise, what the heck am I doing here and why are you here??

Let’s Do This!

We all know there is no silver bullet. Our body parts will eventually sag, droop, wrinkle and sway. Everything WILL shift in a southerly direction because we cannot defy the law of gravity unless you decide to live on the Moon. Until such time, let’s make use of the great options we have today to help restore and preserve some of our youth.

Here’s to sharing, caring and loving ourselves! (and a bit of pampering along the way) Buh-bye you nasty wrinkles..come back in a few more years.

I would love to hear from you and learn how you have embraced your aging journey. Feel free to leave a suggestion, comment or question below and I will be more than happy to chime in!

Your pal,
